Cork GAA club set to complete 24-hour charity run for the Mercy Hospital’s Cancer Appeal

GAA players and management at a club are set to complete a 24-hour charity run on Saturday for the Mercy Hospital’s Cancer Appeal.

Members of Youghal GAA Club in Cork are taking part in the fundraising drive.

Manager Ken Bulman said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Mercy’s Cancer Appeal this Saturday.

“Over 35 of the players and management will each take it in turns to run consistently for one hour, while two participants will run together throughout the night and early morning, adhering to social distancing guidelines.

“Each participant will be allocated a time and will run for one hour within a 5km boundary from their homes.”

The players will also be showing their support for Ken’s daughter Shannen Bulman Joyce who is recovering from her second cancer diagnosis in just five years.

A keen camogie player, Shannen was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2014 at the age of 19, and again most recently in 2019.
