The Ballycotton shipwreck is on fire with multiple units of the fire service currently at the scene.
It's been confirmed to Cork Beo that three large fire units and a water tanker were deployed to the scene of the MV ALTA at 3.46pm.
The units are still at the scene though it's currently unknown if they have been able to reach the wreckage.
Those near the wreck have reported "a fairly decent plume of smoke coming from it".
People are being warned to avoid the area.
