Cork fans lose their minds after Shane Kingston goal in frantic start to All-Ireland final

Cork fans were already losing their minds just minutes into the All-Ireland final after Shane Kingston rattled the net early on at Croke Park.

The Rebels are looking to end a 16-year wait for the Liam MacCarthy Cup this afternoon and those dreams were almost immediately dashed.

Gearoid Hegarty hit the net just minutes into the big game, but nervous Cork fans and players were put at ease as pacy corner forward Shane Kingston scored a sensational goal.

Kingston picked up possession at the 45 and cut inside before driving the sliotar into the top right corner on front of Hill 16, to complete a frantic four minutes of action.

The two sides have gone on to trade scores in a thrilling battle on front of a 40,000 strong crowd, but an Aaron Gillane goal has proven the difference as Limerick lead by 2-07 to 1-06 after the first quarter.

One fan said: "That Shane Kingston goal was preceded by one of the most intricate end to end moves ever seen in an All Ireland hurling final - spectacular."

"What a start! Some finish by Shane Kingston!"," another added.

Meanwhile in Cork City, there were incredible scenes in one outdoor beer garden as Rebels fans were sent into ruptures as the goal went in.
