Cork City hoping for second home win of the campaign against bottom side Finn Harps

It speaks volumes for Cork City's problems this season that victory over bottom club Finn Harps tonight would only be their second home win of this campaign.

The Leesiders are languishing in eighth place after Friday's loss in Derry - and the cause has not been helped by the red card for Conor McCormack at the Brandywell as he joins Garry Comerford and Dan Casey on the suspended list.

Alan Bennett, Gearóid Morrissey, Karl Sheppard and Sean McLoughlin are all to be assessed ahead of the game. Cian Murphy is definitely ruled out.

"We need to react," said City assistant boss John Cotter.

“Everyone knows we need to do better and hopefully we can rectify that.

"We need to turn it around, get a win, score a few goals - those are all the challenges for us.

"It’s not good enough on our behalf. Hopefully we can put a few things right.”

Ciaran Gallagher, Mark Timlin and Gareth Harkin remain absent through injury for Harps and Colm Deasy and Daniel O'Reilly are suspended, while Raff Cretaro and Harry Ascroft are doubts.

The strugglers picked up their third draw of the season on Friday, but were denied a first win late on.

"We've a long journey and physically our recovery won’t have been as good as Cork’s will be, especially when you factor in that some of lads have had to work," said Harps boss Ollie Horgan.
