Cork city fire fighters come to rescue of adorable puppy who had fallen into a drain

A puppy that had fallen down a drain was extremely fortunate on Monday - as the Cork City fire brigade managed to rescue him before danger struck.

The Ballyvolane crew from the Cork city Fire brigade rushed to the little guy's rescue early this morning and were able to free him after some careful manoeuvring.

His anxious family watched on as the workers were able to dissemble the drain and reach in to retrieve their puppy without using power tools.

They did this to make sure he wasn't hurt in the process.

Thankfully he emerged looking tired, wet, and a little worse for wear but unharmed, and undoubtedly in for a day of pampering as he recoups.

The fire fighters said they were only too happy to come to the aid of the pup who had had a "woof morning".

"After some time and hard work the pup was happy to be freed to safety," they said.
