Multiple branches of emergency services on Tuesday night completed an extensive search in Cork City after a person was reported being in the water.
Crosshaven Coast Guard, Cork City Fire Brigade, the National Ambulance Service and Gardai responded to the incident at 10.51pm.
A search operation began and a person was found safe and well a short time later- the operation was stood down shortly after midnight, CorkBeo reports.
A spokesperson for Crosshaven Coast Guard said: "There was a report of a person in the water at The Lough, found safe and well after an extensive search by all services involved.
"Three units of fire, two Garda cars, one ambulance and Coast Guard search teams."
This is the second river incident in as many days in Cork city after a person was pulled from the water late on Monday night.
Multiple units of the fire brigade along with an ambulance and gardai were called to the incident along the city's quays.
Firefighters entered the water to help pull the man ashore before he was transported to hospital.
The man was not believed to be seriously injured and should make a full recovery in the coming days.
A spokesperson for Cork City Fire Brigade said: "Last night crews from Anglesea St and Ballyvolane rescued a person from the river in the city centre. Swiftwater Rescue trained firefighters entered the water and removed the person to safety Great teamwork with NASCork and Gardai to deal with incident."
