WASHINGTON _ When coach Joel Quenneville said Corey Crawford would miss at least three games because of a lower-body injury, he said the Blackhawks would keep monitoring Crawford's recovery to have a more definitive idea when he would return.
Quenneville said the hope is that Crawford could come back for Friday's game against the Sabres, the first game Crawford is eligible to come off injured reserve. But Quenneville said Wednesday the "likelihood" is that Crawford will instead return for Sunday's game against the Coyotes.
Crawford skated individually in Chicago for the first time since shutting down after Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Stars at home.
"That's progress," Quenneville said.
Anton Forsberg will get the call in net for the third consecutive game against the Capitals.
