Corey Anderson not sulking on KO loss at UFC on ESPN+ 25: ‘Back to the drawing board’

Corey Anderson won’t be deterred despite stumbling at a critical moment in his career.

Anderson (13-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) had his four-fight winning streak come to an abrupt halt Saturday when he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz (26-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC) in the light heavyweight main event at UFC on ESPN+ 25 at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M.

A win likely would have put Anderson on the doorstep of a title shot against Jon Jones, who was seated cageside, but instead “Overtime” will have to put even more work in to get that opportunity.

Anderson is seemingly embracing that challenge, though. His first post-fight reaction rang positive (via Instagram).

The funk don't quit!

A great coach once told me “you have 5 minutes to sulk and then it’s on to the next one!” We live and we learn. Back to the drawing board. I appreciate each and every fan and hater! A lose has never stopped me and it ain’t stopping me now. See yall at the top! #ufc

With the loss, Anderson is now 1-1 in bouts against Blachowicz after winning their first meeting by decision at UFC 191 in September 2015. It was his fifth loss in UFC competition overall, with four of those defeats coming by knockout.
