Cordy Glenn: ‘I just want to help out the team however I can’

Shortly after Andy Dalton and Zac Taylor met with the media and addressed the Cordy Glenn situation, the left tackle himself spoke up.

Glenn, reactivated after his suspension and practicing with the team, has already been declared out for the Week 8 London game against the Los Angeles Rams.

He spoke with Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com about the recent events:

“Last week just happened. Stuff happens sometimes. Anytime you’re hurt you want to be in there and help the team. I’m a competitor. Of course I missed it. The only thing that happened, honestly, is I got hurt. That’s just all that happened. It’s not about not wanting to play. You’re hurt, you’re hurt.”

He also added: “Right now I just want to help out the team however I can and just go and practice like I practiced yesterday.”

Glenn said he and Taylor are fine but that he’s still not back to game shape after spending two months on the shelf with his injury.

Otherwise, Glenn didn’t want to talk about the reports he was fined $200,000 and got into an argument with staff, which resulted in his asking for his release.

All parties are saying and doing the right things for now, though we’d be remiss not to mention the trade deadline looms next Tuesday.
