Cordon set up in Sneinton following reports of 'loud bang' and gunshot

A cordon has been set up in Sneinton following reports of a gunshot in the early hours of the morning.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Ladysmith Street on Tuesday morning, March 24, and officers are now working hard to establish the circumstances.

No one is thought to have been injured in the incident, and the cordon has been set up while searches of the area are carried out.

Officers are investigating the possibility of the discharge of a firearm and patrols have been increased in the area to provide reassurance to local residents.

It follows reports of loud bangs heard in the area between 11.30pm and just after midnight.

A spokesperson for the police said: "If you have any information that could aid officers in our investigation, please call us on 101, quoting incident number 235 of March 24, 2020."

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
