A police cordon is in place around a Bedminster pub this morning (September 22) following a serious incident last night.

Although the details of the incident are not yet known, late into Saturday evening (September 21).

At least three police cars and a police van were also seen in the area last night.

The A38, West Street, was closed by police from the junction with Chessel Street to Hengaston Road and remains shut today.

In addition a silver Smart car was seen flipped on its side in a side road off the main street.

The car was on its drivers side in Chapel Barton, a narrow no-through-lane, with eyewitnesses reporting they saw several people on the scene.
