A Birmingham-based property developer has strengthened its team with five new appointments including a new deputy chief executive.
Jewellery Quarter outfit Cordia Blackswan has made the hires as it ramps up its development activity across the city where it is creating more than 2,000 residential units and office and retail space.
Andras Karpati has joined the company as deputy chief executive and capital markets director from the firm's parent company HQ in Budapest where he was international project director for more than two years.
He was previously chief executive of Melbourne-based Optimus Development Group and worked on the delivery of more than 1,000 homes across cities in Australia.
Marika Lawrence has been appointed as new projects director and will be responsible for site acquisitions and pipeline projects.
She was previously associate director and senior development consultant at chartered surveying practice Thomas Lister in Bromsgrove and also had a spell with logistics provider Prologis Developments in Solihull.
Jessica Vincent joins the team as marketing manager, having previously worked for cosmetic surgery firm Sk:n Group and holiday website Cruise.co.uk where she undertook various roles including brand manager and strategic marketing manager.
In the administrative team, the developer welcomes Kaniz Khan from property consultancy Avison Young as finance assistant and Louise James from food and drink supplier Grandways International as personal assistant to chief executive Marcus Hawley.
Hungarian firm Cordia International bought what was then Blackswan Property a year ago, marking the group's debut in the UK property market.
Among its current roster of projects are the Bradford Works shared-living scheme in Barr Street and the conversion of a former bank in Great Hampton Street to create a new head office for the company.
