That’s one way to score in the third quarter.

Cordarrelle Patterson matched the Bears’ season-long scoring total in the third quarter Monday night when he returned the opening kickoff for a 104-yard touchdown to give the Bears a 13-7 lead.

Patterson’s eighth career kickoff return for a touchdown puts him in a three-way tie — along with Josh Cribbs and Leon Washington, who are both retired — for the most in the modern history of the sport.

Patterson caught the ball in the north end zone standing on the second “C” in “CHICAGO,” ran up the middle and broke toward the right sideline. Amazingly, he was never touched, beating the kicker last.

Per NFL Next Gen stats, no defender got within a yard of Patterson, who ran 117.3 yards during his return.

Earlier this week, Patterson was asked whether it was special to face the Vikings, who drafted him in the first round in 2013.

“At the end of the day it’s a football game,” he said. “We’ve been doing it our whole life, man, no matter what team I’m on you always want to win.

“People can say it’s a revenge game, but I have played the Vikings, this is the third or fourth time now. So I’m just trying to get to the base, just playing football and get these Ws.”
