The Bears needed a spark, and Cordarrelle Patterson delivered.
Trailing the Saints 9-0 Sunday at Soldier Field, the Bears wide receiver returned a Wil Lutz kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown.
It marked the sixth kickoff return of his career, and his first since he returned a kick at Soldier Field last year against the Bears while a member of the Patriots.

The last Bears player to return a kick for a touchdown was Chris Williams in a 2014 blowout loss at Lambeau Field. Devin Hester was the last to do it at Solider Field, and that came in 2011.
Patterson reached 20.29 mph on the return, per NFL Next Gen Stats. He’s run that fast on special teams three times since the start of last season.
His seven career kickoff returns is one shy of the modern NFL record of eight, held by Leon Washington and Josh Cribbs.
