A NEW left-wing party being formed by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana has already collected 200,000 sign-ups in less than 24 hours.
Earlier this month, MPs Sultana and Corbyn confirmed the launch of a new party which would "build a real alternative" to the Labour Party.
Corbyn shared the temporary name of the new party to be Your Party on Thursday, telling followers "it's time for a new kind of political party", just before Sultana confirmed that was not its official name.
A consultation has been launched around the party's future, which will be decided at an upcoming people's assembly.
Corbyn confirmed on Twitter/X on Friday that 200,000 people had signed up for updates about the new party.
He posted: "Wow. In under 24 hours, 200,000 people have signed up to build a real alternative to poverty, inequality and war.
"Something special is happening - be part of it at https://yourparty.uk."
Corbyn is encouraging the public to sign up to "be part of the founding process", which would is set to lead to an inaugural conference.
A staggering poll earlier this month suggested the new party would be level with Labour when it comes to voting intention.
The survey, conducted by pollsters Find Out Now for LBC News, found that of the 650 people polled, 15% would support the new party, matching Labour’s support at 15%.

Those aged 18-29 were particular backers, with 33% saying they would back a new left-wing party – ahead of Reform UK (24%) and Labour (18%).
Sultana announced she had quit the Labour Party earlier this month, claiming she would be setting up a new organisation with Corbyn.
Organised by the Peace and Justice Project, a non-profit organisation founded by Corbyn, the consultation seeks to shape the policy of the new party.
The responses from the consultation will be considered alongside contributions from campaign groups, community campaigners, trade unionists and independent councillors.
The consultation is intended for supporters of the Peace and Justice Project and closes at 5pm on July 31.
Your Party plans to have the party in place in time for next year's Holyrood elections.
