Jeremy Corbyn didn't sound particularly convincing when he he was asked if he watched the Queen's Christmas message.
But then neither do most of us it turns out.
The opening of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! attracted twice the audience of Lizzie's last Christmas outing.
Speaking ahead of an ITV interview that will air tonight Julie Etchingham asked Mr Corbyn: "Do you sit down to watch the Queen's speech?”
Mr Corbyn replied: "It's on the morning, usually we have it on.”
Ms Etchingham: “It’s not on in the morning. It’s at three o’clock in the afternoon.
“So you don't sit down as a family to watch the Queen’s speech?"
The Labour leader said: “We don't watch television very much on Christmas Day.”
Pushed by the ITV host Mr Corbyn revealed he actually spent Christmas day with the family and friends.
Oh and he also said he visited a homeless shelter - the cad.
He said: "I enjoy the presence of my family and friends around Christmas. Obviously, like everybody else does. And, I also visit the homeless shelter, either on Christmas Day, or the day before, to talk to, and listen to people's lives, about how they could be made better with a government that cared for them.”
But before we get seven verses and a chorus on Mr Corbyn "doing up his tie and singing the national anthem" - how many people actually watch the message?
Well last year the speech enjoyed a combined audience of 6.3 million, with 5.2 million watching it on BBC One and 1.1 million on ITV.
That was down from 7.5 million in 2017.
Just a reminder that 66 million people live in the country.
To put that in some context 20 million people watched England crash out against Croatia in the World Cup.
