Cops were told about 'unusual activity' at a house in Tameside - and found a cannabis farm

More than 40 cannabis plants have been seized from a house in Tameside.

Police raided a property on Foundry Street, Dukinfield, at 7.30am on Thursday (March 4) following reports of 'unusual activity' passed on from the public.

Inside - on the third floor - officers found a 'small cannabis farm', with more than 40 plants at various stages of growth.

Nobody was inside the house at the time.

Greater Manchester Police is now carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers from GMP's Tameside District Tasking Team and Challenger Unit executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on Foundry Street, Dukinfield.

"GMP often rely on intelligence from the public so we would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who may have any concerns or information about the distribution of drugs to report this to the police."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
