Cops tweet footage of police sniffer dog discovering 'hidden' toilet roll

An adorable police drug dog has put his nose to the test by sniffing out the “essentials” during the Coronavirus crisis.

Police Scotland Dogs tweeted the short clip on Wednesday afternoon and showed PD Mac frantically searching an unidentified office.

He soon zones in on his intended target, which is hidden inside a metal filing cabinet, lying on the floor to indicate he has found something.

The drawer is slowly opened to reveal the essentials - a much coveted toilet roll.

The force used the opportunity to remind members of the public to follow Scottish Government advice and to stay at home for the next three weeks.

They wrote: “With all the silly panic buying. We enlisted the help of #PDMac to help find the essentials.

"Only buy what you need, think of others. #StayAtHome”

The excitable dog is rewarded for his hard work and is seen running off camera after his toy.

Twitter users were delighted with the video and joked about their own pets.

One wrote: “If that was my sprocker she’d be in the wrong cupboard looking for a packet of crisps.”

Another said: “Find me some dettol please woof woof.”
