Cops treating blaze that left car melted on Hogmanay as 'wilful'

Cops are treating a blaze as 'wilful' after the inferno left a car melted on Hogmanay.

Emergency services raced to the incident at around 11.10pm on Saturday night in Drumacre Road, Bo’Ness, a few miles east of Falkirk.

The fire, which police now suspect was deliberate, left a car melted away in the Scots town on Hogmanay.

A photograph of the damaged car shows the back end badly melted away by the flames.

There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.

Police have launched a probe and say enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of car fire on Drumacre Road in Bo’ness around 11.10pm on Friday, 31 December, 2021.

"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."
