Cops to seek custody of 5 accused

HYDERABAD: A data entry operator and four agents arrested in connection with the fake birth certificates racket case were sent to judicial remand on Friday by a court.

While main accused Aizaz Khasim is on the run, SR Nagar police are seeking custody of the accused to obtain more details about those who took birth certificates through fraudulent means.

“We will move a petition seeking the custody of the arrested accused. Based on the information given by them and other evidences, we will identify the accused who obtained the certificates and establish the purpose for which they had obtained the certificates,” west zone DCP Joel Davis said.

A Satish (36), a GHMC contract data entry operator, was arrested for his involvement in creating birth certificates with fake details. Cops recovered the cellphones from the accused and seized Satish’s computer. “We will send the cellphones and hard disc of the computer for a forensic analysis,” said an investigator. Khasim and another agent Ankit of Secunderabad are on the run.
