Cops tape off Glasgow street after man 'attacked by gang carrying weapons'

Police cordoned off a Glasgow street after reports of a man being attacked by a gang wielding weapons.

Queens Drive in the city’s southside area was taped off by cops at around 4.35pm this afternoon.

O fficers were unable to trace anyone involved in the alleged attack when they arrived at the scene.

A probe has now been launched as Police Scotland attempts to track down the victim.

Anyone in the area at the time of the incident has been urged to come forward with any information that may help with enquiries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Just before 4.35pm on Friday, 9 April, police received a report of a man being assaulted by a group of men with weapons in Queens Drive, Glasgow.

“Officers attended and there was no trace of any of the people involved.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the victim and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2366 of Friday, 9 April.

“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
