Cops swoop on 'disturbance' at block of flats in Fife town as man arrested

A man has been charged in connection with a 'disturbance' in a Scots town.

Police rushed to the scene on Hill Street in Inverkeithing, Fife at around 8.50pm on Tuesday, January 4.

Multiple police officers were seen lining the streets outside a block of flats as the incident unfolded.

Witnesses also said that the High Street in the town also appeared was blocked off by the force.

A 21-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 5.

Police Scotland confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the disturbance and that there's no wider threat to the public.

Witnesses also said that the High Street in the town also appeared to be blocked off (Fife Jammer Locations)

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 8.50pm on Tuesday, 4 January 2022, police received a report of a disturbance in Hill Street.

"Officers attended and a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter and there is no threat to the wider public.

"The man is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday 5 January, 2022."
