Cops swarm Glasgow street after reports of firearm being discharged

Forensics teams have been combing a Glasgow street this morning after reports of a firearm being discharged.

Dozens of police swarmed Windsor Street in the Maryhill area of the city at around 9.45pm on Thursday, May 21.

The street has been taped off while at least six cop vehicles were parked up on the nearby Maryhill Road.

Officers have been standing guard at the front doors of some properties as they continue their investigations.

Nobody was reported to have been injured in the incident.

Officers from Police Scotland are now urging anyone who may have information on the incident to contact them.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A report was received around 9.45pm on Thursday, 21 May of a firearm being discharged on Windsor Street in Glasgow.

"Nobody was injured and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

"Anyone with information about the incident or footage from private CCTV or a dashcam from around the time of the incident can call 101, quoting incident 3948 of 21 May.

"Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
