Cops step up search for missing Scot wearing walking gear as 'concerns grow'

Police are continuing their search for a man who vanished while wearing walking gear in Campbeltown, Argyle and Bute

Neil Scott was last seen around 1pm on Tuesday, 6 July, at the Co-Op store in the area, and is believed to have attended at the local post office shortly after.

He was reported missing from his home in Burnside Street around 10.15am on Thursday, 8 July.

Neil is described as being around 5ft 10in in height, of medium build with thinning grey/white hair.

He was last seen wearing a black thigh-length winter coat with a hood and reflective white stripes on two zips on the chest area. He was also wearing faded blue jeans, a dark coloured cap and beige walking boots.

Inspector Ross MacDonald said: “There are real concerns for Neil’s welfare and it is vital we trace him as soon as possible.

“Neil is known to go walking in the area with his dog, an elderly cross breed collie, and we are urging people to keep a look out for them and report any potential sightings to police.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0984 of 8 July, 2021.”
