Cops step up patrols in Falkirk woods as thugs run riot

Police in Falkirk are stepping up patrols in a wooded area after numerous reports of anti-social behaviour.

A spate of deliberate fires have been set in recent weeks, with large crowds gathering in Polmont Woods to drink alcohol.

Locals nearby have also made complaints about loud music and litter, along with glass bottles being smashed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Braes and Grangemouth officers have been carrying out patrols in Polmont Woods.

"It follows a recent increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB), including disorder and fire raising, taking place."

Officers are also asking parents and carers to have a word with youngsters, in the hope it will reduce the number of conplaints being made.
