Cops seize £20k worth of stolen construction tools and property from Strathaven farm

Cops have revealed a massive £20,000 worth of stolen equipment was recovered from a Strathaven farm.

Police Scotland Lanarkshire Division stated they often receive reports of thefts of property, plants, tools and equipment connected to the construction industry.

They say that these reports helped them to carry out an investigation into this type of theft which led to the crackdown.

One man and two women have been charged in connection with the alleged offences.

In a statement on their Facebook page, they said: "The theft of such items can have significant impact on building projects, construction and hire companies as well as the trade professionals.

"We obtained a search warrant and recovered approximately £20,000 of stolen property from a farm in Strathaven

"We were able to return most of the stolen property to the rightful owners.

"One man and two women have been charged with alleged offences in connection with the thefts and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Report any information to us via 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800555111."
