Cops seize £20k of cannabis in raid at Newton Mearns flat

Police have seized a cannabis cultivation thought to be worth around £20,000 following a raid on an East Renfrewshire flat.

The plants were recovered from the address in Newton Mearns.

East Renfrewshire Police revealed their discovery in a post on Twitter on Wednesday, February 10.

Writing about the find, the force said: "Officers have recovered a cannabis cultivation from a flat in Newton Mearns.

"Early estimates indicate a street value over £20k.

"Cultivations pose a significant risk of fire and injury.

" Please report suspected cultivations on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
