Police swooped on a motor being ‘driven erratically’ near Carstairs before discovering around £108,000 worth of cannabis inside.
Officers spotted the suspect vehicle - a grey Toyota Avensis - as it drove near the Harelaw Roundabout on the A721 at around 8pm on Saturday.
A search of the motor uncovered the massive drugs haul which was seized by officers.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.
He is due to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court on Monday, May 10.
Inspector Steven Conn, of Lanarkshire Police Division, said: “I’d like to commend the good work of our officers who initially pulled the vehicle over as it was being driven in an erratic manner.
“Thanks to their good instincts and judgement, we’ve now removed a significant quantity of illegal drugs from the streets.
