Cops searching for missing Scots man who vanished on Christmas find vehicle

Cops have launched an appeal after a Scots man vanished on Christmas day.

Officers in the Highlands are looking to trace Roderick Augusto, 43, who has been reported missing from the Carlisle area. It is believed he travelled to Caithness on Sunday, December, 25.

Roderick's vehicle has since been found in the Dunnet Head area, according to police. Roderick is described as white, of slim athletic build and is bald.

Police say they are 'extremely concerned' for his welfare. Sergeant Jonny Wilkin, Thurso Police Office, urged anyone who recognises Roderick or has information on his whereabouts to come forward.

He said: "We are extremely concerned for Roderick’s wellbeing, especially as he has not been seen or heard from for over a week."

“We are appealing for anyone who recognises Roderick or has information regarding his whereabouts to please come forward. We would also urge Roderick to please get in touch with someone to confirm that he is okay.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1593 of Thursday, 5 January, 2023.
