Cops seal off East Kilbride street after residents spot man covered in blood

A blood-soaked man was rushed to hospital last night after being found injured in an East Kilbride street.

Cops closed off Sandpiper Drive in Greenhills at around 7pm after residents raised the alarm reporting that a man was walking down the street with blood on his face.

The 38-year-old told officers he sustained the injuries after a fall and was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment.

Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A police spokesman said: "We received a report of a concern for a person on Sandpiper Drive, East Kilbride, around 6.55pm on Tuesday, June 23.

"A 38-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing."
