Cops rush to scene after 'attack' in Scots garden where kids had been enjoying party

Police raced to an 'attack' in a Scots garden where kids are understood to have been enjoying a children's party.

Emergency services attended a property on St Vincent Place in Motherwell on Sunday evening where numerous police vehicles and an ambulance were seen parked outside.

Locals said there had been an assault in the back garden of a flat block on the street but this has yet to be confirmed.

Police officers remain on the scene this evening and part of the garden has been taped off.

It is understood a party was taking place in the garden before the attack.

A bouncy castle had been on the grass but was removed shortly afterwards.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
