Cops rush to 'mass brawl' in Glasgow's Knightswood

A man has been taken to hospital after a reports of a 'massive brawl' in the Knightswood area of Glasgow.

Emergency crews descended on Cairntoul Place, just off Anniesland Road, at around 4.50pm after a 'disturbance' in the area.

Police vans were seen lining up on the pavements.

A witness told the Record she heard the sound of sirens in the area at around 5pm.

And there are local reports of weapons being used, including glass bottles and golf clubs, although these reports are unconfirmed by police.

A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance following the disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a disturbance on Cairntoul Place, Glasgow, around 4.50pm on Saturday, 6 June, 2020.

"A 21-year-old man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with what appears to be minor injuries. Enquiries are ongoing."

Officers cover the area with three vans lined up with an ambulance parked further down the road.
