Cops recover van used to smash open ATM in robbery at Scots petrol station as manhunt launched

Detectives investigating a robbery at a cashline in Bo'ness last night have recovered an orange van they believe was used to smash into the machine.

The cash machine, situated outside a petrol station on Dean Road in the town, is believed to have targeted sometime between 11 and 11.40pm on Monday November, 22.

Officers were alerted to the incident just before 2am this morning.

The vehicle was recovered in the local area earlier today.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the quantity of cash stolen but it is estimated to be in five figures.

A manhunt has since been launched for two people dressed in dark clothing seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Detective Inspector Craig Higgins said: "Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity is asked to get in touch.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV from the area around that time.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 0185 of 23 November, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
