Cops race to 'serious' two-car crash in East Lothian

Cops have raced to the scene of a serious two-car crash in East Lothian.

Officers were called to the A198 - which links the village of Dirleton with North Berwick and Gullane shortly after 12.45pm today.

Ambulance crews are currently at the scene.

Police have closed off the road in both directions.

It is unknown if anyone is injured.

A post on the East Lothian Police Division Facebook page said: "A road closure has been put in place between Station Road, Dirleton and North Berwick.

"Local diversions are in place. We urge motorists to avoid this area if possible until further notice."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland received a report of a two car road crash on the A198 near Dirleton shortly after 12.45pm on Thursday, June 4.

"Emergency services remain at the scene."

The Scottish Ambulance Service was also approached for comment.
