Cops race to ongoing incident on Scots railway line as Glasgow travellers warned of disruption

Police are currently dealing with an ‘ongoing incident’ on a busy Scots railway line as commuters are warned to expect disruption.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Glengarnock, Ayrshire, and Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, at around 7.20am on Thursday.

The current nature of the incident is unknown but ScotRail have told passengers that several train services are being affected.

Trains between Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour, Ayr and Largs have been suspended.

Some tickets are being accepted on local bus services but travellers are being urged to check before they try to travel.

British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
