Cops race to ongoing incident in Glasgow amid reports of 'street being cordoned off'

Police have raced to an ongoing incident in Glasgow amid reports of a street being cordoned off this evening.

Officers rushed to the Kingsacre Road area of King's Park after the alarm was raised at around 9pm on Wednesday, February 23.

Several cops are at the scene and an area of the road is understood to have been taped off.

The nature of the incident is so far unclear, but a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to the Record that officers remained at the scene shortly after 10.30pm.

Worried locals have reported a heavy police presence in the area.

One resident said: "Just came home on Kingsacre Road to find the road taped off and police everywhere."

Another added: "It's just across from me on St Blane's Drive. My partner said he saw police belting it along Main Street and up Bankhead Road at around 9pm."

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed officers were at the scene "dealing with the incident" but they could not confirm the nature at this stage.
