A section of a major Scots road has been closed due to a crash tonight.
Emergency services including Police Scotland raced to the scene at the M8 at junction three close to Livingston at around 6.20pm.
Traffic Scotland say the road is expected to be closed for some time eastbound between Whitburn and Boghall.
In a tweet the body said the closure was due to 'a police incident'.
It is unclear if anyone has been injured or how many vehicles are involved.
The latest update at 7.18pm advises the road is still closed and that drivers should find alternative routes.
Traffic is being taken off at junction four.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 6.25pm on Tuesday 20 October, to a report of a road crash on the M8 at Junction 3 eastbound.
"Officers are at the scene."
