Cops race to Gorgie amid disturbance as locals report large emergency service presence

Locals have reported a large emergency service presence in Gorgie after cops responded to reports of a disturbance.

Edinburgh Live understands the incident is still ongoing, with several police cars and three Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles in attendance.

One eyewitness said they had heard sirens as they arrived in the area, whilst another said they had seen a man being taken into an ambulance.

The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.

Concerned locals had taken to Facebook to find out what had happened.

Police Scotland told Edinburgh Live the incident was ongoing and officers remained at the scene at 9pm on Wednesday evening.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 20 January, officers in Edinburgh were called to the report of a disturbance at a property on Slateford Green.

“Emergency services are currently in attendance.”
