Cops race to Glasgow road after person found injured as forensic tent pictured at scene

Cops have raced to a busy Glasgow road this afternoon after a person was found injured.

The alarm was raised at around 1pm this afternoon as police rushed to Pollokshaws Road after being made aware an injured person had been discovered.

Photos from the scene in the southside of the city appear to show a forensic tent has been set up at the scene near an entrance to Queen's Park.

An eyewitness said they saw "dozens of officers" on the road in the Shawlands area shortly before 2pm.

It's understood a large police presence remains at the busy road this afternoon, with at least three police vans pictured.

Two ambulances and a paramedic unit were also believed to have been at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1pm on Thursday, 8 July, 2021 officers were made aware of a person found injured on Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow.

"Officers are currently in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
