Cops probing Toby Jug pub brawl in Glasgow after Old Firm are reviewing video footage

Cops are appealing for more information after a "large scale disturbance" in Glasgow following the Celtic v Rangers game on Sunday.

Officers from Police Scotland are keen to speak to people after table and chairs were thrown at the Toby Jug pub in Hope Street, Glasgow at around 3.50pm.

A large group of men walking from Argyle Street clashed when a fight broke out between them and three other males who had been drinking in the bar.

The police are reviewing video footage of the incident and are keen to speak to witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Euan Keil, Greater Glasgow CID, said: "There appears to have been an exchange of words between a couple of patrons from the Toby Jug pub and a group of men who had been walking north on Hope Street which then resulted in a large scale disturbance with some tables and chairs being thrown about.

Celtic fan remains critical as police re-appeal for info on violent Old Firm clashes

"So far we have not had any reports of people being injured during this incident, however, it was the middle of the afternoon and there were lots of people and cars about and we cannot have this type of behaviour happening anywhere never mind in the middle of a busy city centre.

"Officers are currently reviewing CCTV and social media videos showing the fight to try and identify those involved, however, we would also appeal to anyone who has information that will assist our enquiries to contact Greater Glasgow CID via 101 quoting reference number 2524 of the 31 March 2019.

"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on confidence on 0800 555 111."
