Police are appealing for information after a suspicious fire ripped through a Deichmann Shoes in Inverness.

The fire engulfed the store at Inshes Retail Park at around 4.45am on Sunday, December 22.

Fire crews managed to put out the blaze but say significant damage has been done to the building.

Officers are treating the incident as 'wilful fire raising' and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Johnstone said:"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the fire.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire."

"Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting reference number NN8409/19.

"Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
