Cops probe repeated arson attacks in historic Edinburgh graveyard

Repeated arson attacks at a historic graveyard in Edinburgh have been reported to the police by a fed up local.

A concerned resident reported the fires to Police Scotland after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were forced to extinguish one.

He believes they have been set deliberately.

He told Edinburgh Live: "That graveyard is historic and it's very concerning to me that someone would do this.

"I would have stopped them setting the second fire but I was by myself and there were two of them with a can of petrol. They could have thrown it over me.

New Calton Burial Ground is a historic graveyard, and is the final resting place of several family members of Robert Louis Stevenson.
