Cops probe pro-independence video showing Nationalists discussing shooting English cops if they cross border

Police are looking into a pro-independence blog which discussed shooting English cops if they ever crossed the border to deal with an "insurrection" in Scotland.

Four hardline nationalists can be seen in an online video debating whether there will be "a confrontation between Scotland and England" as a result of the constitutional debate over independence.

Officers are now reviewing the footage after it was reported by a member of the public.

In the now-deleted video, one panel member declared: "I think there’s going to have to be a confrontation between Scotland and England anyway and I don't give a monkeys if it's violent."

They added: "They couldn't use the Armed Forces or Police Scotland to put down what they would class as an insurrection.

"They’d have to bus up Greater Manchester Police.

"Greater Manchester Police are basically, having seen them, they’re basically a paramilitary organisation.

"They’d have to bus them up here to put us back in our box. Frankly, the minute the busses started coming over the border, I’d happily sit there with a high powered rifle and take them out.”

The incendiary comments were revealed yesterday during an episode of the Aye Right Radio videocast, a low-quality amateur production shared on YouTube that claims to be "heavy on the truth".

The four presenters are named on the show's website as Jimmy Hutton, Norrie Stewart, Phil Attridge and Stewart Lochhead.

The video was deleted from YouTube on Friday morning shortly after the Record approached Aye Right Radio for comment.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Record: "We are aware of online content and comments posted and the matter is being looked into."

No one from Aye Right Radio has responded to the Record's request for comment.
