Cops probe Ibrox break in after Celtic fan parades Nine in a Row flag on Rangers pitch

Police have launched a probe after a viral clip emerged of a Celtic fan sneaking into Ibrox to parade a Nine in a Row flag.

The two minute clip, which has been circulated widely on social media, shows the fan waving the flag around the empty Rangers stadium.

It is believed that the footage was taken just hours after the Parkhead side were awarded the SPFL Premiership title on Monday.

Police are now investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The matter has now been reported to Police Scotland and enquiries are at an early stage."

The footage comes after Celtic equalled the record for the consecutive number of titles won, after SPFL clubs unanimously agreed to end the league season early amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Celtic’s nine in a row achievement matches previous record set by the club during the 1963-74 season, in addition to Rangers ninth consecutive title winning season in 1996-97.

The clip shows the Hoops fan parading a flag paying tribute to the nine in a row victory in a taunt to Rangers.

He can be seen treading cautiously towards the centre circle in case he is spotted by security working at the stadium.

After waving the flag for a short period of time the chancer then makes a quick dash towards his escape route out of the stadium.

As he runs from the field he shows viewers where he managed to sneak into the stadium.

He says: "Look, the wee door open here."

“They’ve probably phoned the coppers by now.

“I hope I don’t get caught coming out here. I’ll f*****g do a screw or two.

“See yous.”

Instead of leaving the premises from where he entered he attempts to climb over the club gates at one corner of the stadium.

He said: "Cannae get up that f*****g end.

"How do I get oot, How do I get oot. F***."

His phone is then dropped to the ground while the bungling Celtic fan struggles to climb over the gates.

Rangers have been approached for comment.
