Cops probe botched Saturday night armed raid at Glasgow shop

Scots cops have launched a probe after an attempted armed robbery at a city shop.

The botched raid took place at the Lambhill Convenience Store in Kilfinan Street, Glasgow, last night.

Officers attended the store, in the city's Lambhill area, following the 8.20pm incident.

One local said last night: "There has been an incident on Kilfinan Street at Balmore Road.

"The police are in attendance. For a small street there always seems to be a lot going on."

Reports about the incident on social media said staff at the store had been 'held up'.

And today, Police Scotland confirmed officers are investigating.

A spokesperson said: "Around 8.20pm on Saturday, January 16, officers received a report of an attempted armed robbery at a premises in Kilfinan Street, Glasgow.

"No-one was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
