Renfrewshire cops on hunt for man who assaulted woman and tried to steal her car

Officers in Renfrewshire are appealing for information following an assault and attempted robbery in Elderslie.

Police were called to Main Road around 3.15pm on Thursday, February 2 following reports a man had assaulted a 43-year-old woman and tried to gain access to a vehicle.

The woman was uninjured and the man made off when passers-by stopped to help.

He is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, slim, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing dark clothing.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened; believes they saw the man around the time of the incident or anyone with relevant dash-cam footage of the area at the time to contact them.

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2120 of 2 February, 2023.
