Cops lockdown Glasgow street amid 'stabbing' claims

AN investigation is underway after a serious incident in Glasgow's East End days before Christmas.

Cops have locked down Westmuir Street in Parkhead to begin a probe.

The Glasgow Times was told they arrived at the scene around 1pm. Several witnesses told our reporter that a stabbing had taken place but there is no confirmation from official sources yet.

The witnesses claimed someone was taken away in an ambulance.

At the scene, police tape has been erected and a marked force van is blocking entry to the street. Officers remain stationed in the area.

The force has been contacted for comment and it is understood local First Bus services have been diverted.

Services 2, 43, 46, 60 and 60A have all been diverted.

More on this breaking incident when we have it.
