Cops 'lock down' Scots housing estate after man found with 'serious injuries'

Cops have 'locked down' a Scots housing estate after a 31-year-old man was found seriously injured in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services raced to Barony Drive, Glasgow, around 12.05am today after a man was found with serious injuries.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he currently remains.

Officers are understood to have 'locked down' the Baillieston estate and restricted access for people coming in and out as detectives scour the area and try to establish how the man came to sustain his injuries.

Enquiries remain ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “About 12.10am on Saturday, 15 January, 2022, officers were called to Barony Drive, Glasgow after a 31-year-old man was found with serious injuries.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish how this man came about his injuries and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0014 of Saturday, 15 January, 2022."
