Cops lock down River Clyde walkway due to 'ongoing incident'

Cops have sealed off a road near the today due to an "ongoing incident".

Officers from were called to walkway on the River Clyde close to the campus just before 8.20am this morning.

As a result the nationwide force has closed from , near the Sheriff Court, up to the higher education building.

Staff and students are being advised to access the facility from .

In a statement on Twitter, City of Glasgow College wrote: "Due to an ongoing police incident, the walkway along the River Clyde is closed from Gorbals Street (Sheriff Court) to . 

"Staff and students are advised to use an alternative route to get to college - access is available from Crown Street."

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: "Inquiries close to the Gorbals Street area of Glasgow during the morning of Tuesday, January 7 have established no criminality has taken place.

"The local community is thanked for their patience while work was carried out."
