Cops launch urgent appeal after man assaulted at his Lanarkshire home

Cops are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in his home in Lanarkshire.

The 39-year-old victim arrived home from work at around 12.50am on Wednesday, May 13 when two armed suspects forced entry to his property and demanded money.

There was a struggle before the men ran off empty handed following the incident in Bellshill.

The victim did not require medical attention.

One of the suspects is described as being around 5ft 9in in height and the second as 5ft 11in. Both were wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

Detective Constable Graeme Stoddart, of Wishaw CID, said: “The man was not injured but was left shaken as a result of this incident.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 0120 of 13 May.
